v12.xx updates in the works

work continues on the G550. added edits for the 3d HUD for v12. now displays much better in v12.

just getting a start on updates for the Skyvan for v12.09. so far i added new exterior lighting and some new interior lighting. and x-plane changed things for no prop handle constant speed prop aircraft in v12.09 i do believe. will be making adjustments. i never get any messages on new changes. there are no change logs that i know of. makes it real hard to keep up to date. basically, they shouldn't introduce these kinds of changes in mid-stream. and especially without some kind of letting devs know. my guess there are plenty of broken planes out there. not the way to do things. and that goes for documentations also. rare that i kind find helpful. shame.

they should be fixing bugs not adding new crap that breaks airplanes. x-plane assumes blue handle at zero. with no handle to move your stuck at feather. total BS. can only start, if they start, they will not take throttle.

and i have to spend time redoing the props. total change nonsense. it's not going to help anything really.

just my vent for the day.

Aw man, that stinks.  Keep up the good work...I appreciate the efforts you make on the models, especially in a changing game.

I've been flying the heck out of the Caribou lately...such an amazing airplane.  Full props, idle power, gear down at 150 with flaps coming on late...she will drop like an elevator into short & steep fields.

thanks EuroPPL. i do really enjoy working on these airplanes. and when people tell me about the good times they have i work even happier. been a while since i jumped in the seat of the Bou. i remember doing some touch and go's wheel barrel style was great!

some early shots of the skyvan flying dark and rainy. got those props tuned up. not a big deal really. just a half dozen trial and error sessions. pretty typical for x-plane.

i made an amazing discovery this morning. can now see rain through the visor glass. they labeled it reflector. not sure why in planemaker. no wonder i have been missing it. anyways will be adding this edit to future updates for v12 airplanes. all started when i tried to make real mirrors for the skyvan that are inside the cockpit. i figured reflector would be a mirror. nope! had to go back to old magic. maybe someday we will get real mirrors. you can make them chrome but they do not reflect anything really. just some random junk.

the 750T is still in the works. just added the visor edit to see rain through the glass. and i should mention there is a graphic setting you can move the slider to the right. it helps the plane look more dirty. it's called ambient occulsion pictured below in the yellow box ouline. slide to the right to make more shadows on the fuselage and stuff. makes nicer screenshots. it does impact FPS. i lost maybe 5 FPS. v12 seriously needs enhancement so it's performs better. i don't know how people run 3 monitor setups. maybe they use 3 computers.

now can see rain through the HUD. looks better. will add in and out engine sounds for the G550 next. as requested added a better power button for the AP. and other buttons as well for the AP. all the new interior and exterior lights are a nice touch. and i finally discovered a better setup for graphics. now i'm getting full 60 FPS with rain and clouds at night. x-plane used to struggle at those busy airports. also added a new timer/clock. the no smoking and seatbelt switches when on only display copilot and passengers. i find myself sometimes wanting company and sometimes not.

G550 v12 updates continue with a new instrument brightness control. also it will adjust the brightness of the HUD. you'll notice more when at night. you can move the knob in planemaker if you want. updated the checklist with the new menu system applied. now click the checklist button for the x-plane checklist. fixed the arm spoiler button. and lots more. will be making a complete list on update day. really liking all the updates applied for the v12 version. the v11 version will be the same as before. some may like it better. it is the easiest menu system. and the co-pilot menu system operates as well. the v12 version doesn't have the co-pilot side operating due to running out of space in the panel.png. i requested quite a while ago for 4096 space. we are still at 2048 even in v12. just some FYI at the present update state of the G550.

good news folks. i managed to make enough room to make the co-pilot displays active at the cost of a smaller avitab resolution. it's rather kinda blurry but best i can do with so little room as stated in the previous post. i made a plugin for v1, vr, and v2 speeds. it is very helpful. the numbers will change depending on weight, flaps, and altitude. this way you will have reference to abort or take off in case of a failure.

and i remember playing Doom at 320 x 240 res way way back in the day when the game first came out as shareware. that is the res of the avitab. for a better res avitab does have a pop out panel you can make active in the plugins options at the top of the screen. so will satisfy. is at full res. pictured below.

Hey there X-Hangar. I just went to update the C-130 via the org store and all files inside of the download are from 2023. I remember seeing something about the org store having issues between the end of April and beginning of May with updates. C130.acf & L10030.acf is from 10/26/2023. The latest modified file is from November 2023 which matches my original download from March of this year.
